Dr. Alexa Ferrell is very excited to be joining the Fayette Veterinary Hospital team. She was born in Richlands, Va. and moved around between Ohio and Kentucky growing up. Dr. Ferrell completed her bachelors in agriculture at Eastern Kentucky University in 2015 and her veterinary training at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine on May 6. Throughout her schooling she has spent time working at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital, Columbus Zoo & Aquarium, Denver Zoo, and Kentucky Fish & Wildlife. Dr. Ferrell’s passion is in exotics and wildlife medicine. She is willing though to see any critter you have for her; big, small, fluffy, or scaly. Back at home she has a 3-year-old hedgehog, a 7-year-old Alaskan Malamute, a 3-year-old Dalmatian, a 6-year-old Red Heeler, two cats, and six chickens. It’s safe to say Dr. Ferrell has a zoo of her own! She will be starting May 20 at the Fayette Veterinary Hospital to see all of your lovely pets, so come on in and meet the newest team member!
