According to reports, the Washington C.H. Police Department responded to the following calls:

March 24

Domestic Violence: At 11:44 p.m., officers responding to 803 Conley on a disturbance found Matthew R. Martin assaulting his live-in girlfriend. Charges were filed.

Larceny: At 12:54 a.m., Scott M. Angeletti reported that someone removed his wallet and several other personal items from his vehicle.

March 23

Assault: At 3:41 a.m., a woman reported that she was assaulted by Brandy Merritt while at her residence. An assault report was completed.

Domestic Violence: At 9:55 a.m., a woman reported she was physically assaulted by her live-in boyfriend, Howard Woods. She had visible signs of being assaulted. Woods was arrested for domestic violence.

Theft of a Motor Vehicle: At 10:42 a.m., Jamie Prater reported that his vehicle was stolen from his residence sometime overnight. He advised that he believes he knows the suspect. A theft report was completed and the vehicle was later returned to his residence.

Theft: At 2:33 p.m., Walmart Loss Prevention reported an attempted theft at the store. They advised that a male attempted to push out a cart full of merchandise, but was stopped prior to leaving the store. A theft report was completed.

Possession of Drugs: At 4:22 p.m., officers responded to Fayette County Memorial Hospital in reference to an overdose. Officers made contact with the staff, who advised that Katherine Ross overdosed in the public bathroom. Narcotics were located on her person.

Theft/Receiving Stolen Property: At 6:06 p.m., Heather Harris reported that her stolen credit card was used at the Murphy USA gas station earlier in the day. A report was completed and an investigation started.

Assault: At 8:53 p.m., a woman reported that she was assaulted three weeks ago by her granddaughter, Carrie Cottrell. An assault report was completed.

March 22

Aggravated Menacing/Using Weapons while Intoxicated/Improper Handling of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle/Open Container in Motor Vehicle and O.V.I.: At 10:17 p.m., officers responded to 720 S. Main St. in reference to Craig E. Morris threatening to kill the occupants in the residence. Officers located Morris as he departed in his vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Morris was arrested while intoxicated. Officers located multiple firearms in the vehicle, and he was charged accordingly.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia/Open Container in Motor Vehicle: At 1:45 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle that was leaving the area of a possible burglary in progress. A passenger, identified as Anthony Nelson, was in possession of drug paraphernalia and an open container of alcohol. Nelson was arrested.

March 21

Assault: At 12:44 a.m., Daniel Ruth reported that during a disagreement about a bicycle, Paul Hays struck him with a baseball bat in the leg. A warrant was clerked, and Hays was later arrested for assault.
