The 79th-annual Fayette County Shepherd’s Club Banquet will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, April 1 in the Mahan Building on the county fairgrounds.

It will feature the traditional roast lamb dinner with all the trimmings, prepared and served by the Willow Restaurant. Tickets for the event may be purchased at Prime Meats and Deli, the secretary’s office at the fairgrounds, or from any Shepherd’s Club director.

Highlights of the program following the meal will include the selection of the 2019 Fayette County Lamb Queen to succeed current queen, Abigail Mick, and recognition of Fayette County Junior Fair sheep exhibitors.

Newly-employed county extension educator, Lydia Ulry, will be the featured speaker. Ulry will share her background and indicate her goals with the Fayette County Extension 4-H program.

The Fayette County Shepherd’s Club is the oldest commodity organization in the county.
