Packrat Crafters meet

The Packrat Crafters 4-H club met at the shelter house of the Heritage Church at 7 p.m. on June 11.

President Mariah Carter called the meeting to order and the pledges were led by McKenzie Vanslyke. Members answered roll by naming their favorite color, the minutes were read and the treasurer’s report was given and approved.

During the business meeting, members discussed enrollment deadlines, project guidelines and fair judgings.

Maddie Frye gave a safety report on being prepared for an emergency and then she passed out a checklist of what to put in an emergency kit. As a safety activity for the meeting, members brought in several bottles of sunscreen that Maddie will deliver to the Well as a club donation.

Project presentations and demonstrations were next. Abby Joseph brought her rabbit, Oreo, for her presentation and she shared with the members how to care for a pet rabbit. Next Emma Whistler did a demonstration on how to clean dull pennies and make them shine by using kitchen ingredients. Mariah later shared the progress of her sewing project with her advisors.

Before the meeting was adjourned, Mariah scheduled a cake decorating meting for 1 p.m. on June 24.
