Man seriously injured in crash

A 43-year-old Clarksburg man was listed in critical condition at Grant Medical Center in Columbus on Tuesday following a traffic accident on Lowe’s Boulevard in Washington C.H.

According to reports from the Washington C.H. Police Department, a 1987 Cadillac DeVille, driven by Dana M. Barnes, 26, of Circleville, was heading northbound on Lowe’s Boulevard at around 7 a.m. Tuesday. The Cadillac hit the rear corner trailer of a legally parked semi-truck facing northbound on Lowe’s, reports said.

The passenger in the Cadillac, identified as Kevin Willard Perry, and Barnes were transported by Fayette County EMS to the Fayette County Memorial Hospital emergency room. Soon after, Perry was flown by medical helicopter to Grant Medical Center for treatment. He was listed in critical condition at around 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The driver of the semi-truck, who was inside the parked vehicle at the time of the accident, was listed as Robert J. Scharf, 51, of Hillsboro. According to reports, Scharf was not injured.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
