The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a weekend robbery at the Flagway 1 (Cruz-Thru) station, located at 1537 State Route 41 Northwest.

At around 5:34 p.m. Saturday, the Flagway clerk reported to deputies that she heard a noise outside the drive-thru window and upon checking, saw a man dressed in black clothing crawl into the drive-thru window, according to Sheriff Vernon Stanforth. The man, whose face was covered, allegedly pointed an unknown object in the direction of the clerk and demanded the cash register.

“The clerk reported fleeing to the office area of the business where the door was secured and 911 was called,” said Stanforth.

Once FCSO deputies and officers from the Washington C.H. Police Department arrived, the area was checked for the suspect described in the incident, but no one was located, Stanforth said. “The cash register was forcibly entered inside the business and an undetermined amount of cash was taken before the suspect fled,” he said.

Sheriff’s detectives were called to Flagway to process the crime scene and the investigation is continuing. Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area of Flagway 1 on Saturday evening, or has information regarding this alleged robbery is urged to contact the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at 740-335-6170.
