Chamber of Commerce honors SSCC 40th anniversary

The November edition of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours was held in the community room of host Southern State Community College.

Guests were treated to food and a raffle for tickets to a Columbus Blue Jackets game courtesy of the college.

Southern State is celebrating its 40th anniversary, and on hand to receive the recognition certificate from the chamber were former Southern State board member Jim Ward, college president Dr. Kevin Boys and current board member Doug Boedeker.

Southern State has four campuses serving Adams, Brown, Clinton, Fayette and Highland counties. The main campus is in Hillsboro and the college offers a variety of technical and transfer programs. The last Business After Hours of 2015 will be hosted by Tanger Outlets, located at the intersection of I-71 and US Route 35. Chamber members and the public are welcome and encouraged to attend the Dec. 16 event from 5 until 7 p.m. in the food court. While not mandatory, guests are encouraged to wear their best tacky Christmas sweater as prizes will be awarded.
