The Fayette County Genealogical Society will be hosting its third-annual Linage Societies Workshop upstairs in the Genealogy Department of the Carnegie Library, 127 S. North St. in Washington Court House, on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 10-12.
The societies within the Fayette County Genealogical include First Families of Fayette County for anyone having an ancestor who lived in Fayette County by Dec. 31, 1820. Century Families of Fayette County is the society for anyone having an ancestor who lived in Fayette County by Dec. 31, 1916. If you have an ancestor who served in the Civil War for the Union or the Confederacy and who served between April 12, 1861 and April 18, 1865 who lived in Fayette County or served out of Fayette County, you are eligible for the Civil War Families of Fayette County.
The workshop is open to anyone who has obtained forms or wants to obtain forms for any of these societies. Forms for all of the societies will be available the day of the workshop for anyone interested in participating. To be considered for induction in 2019, forms are to be completed and turned into the Linage Committee of Fayette County Genealogical Society by Feb. 1, 2019. Successful inductees will be honored with certificates and pins at the Society’s annual Linage Dinner in May.
