According to reports, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls:

NOV. 9

ROBBERY: Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a robbery at the northbound rest area on I-71. Chris McGana of Newport, Tenn. advised he stopped at the rest area and was approached by six unknown males who demanded his money. The unknown males departed northbound on I-71.

TRAFFIC CRASH: Darren Ward of Piketon was traveling westbound on Route 435 and was stopped at a traffic light near I-71. Shelby Dodds of Washington C.H. was also traveling westbound and failed to observe a vehicle stopped at the traffic light and struck the rear of Ward’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. Dodds was cited for ACDA.

TELEPHONE HARASSMENT: A Mt. Sterling resident reported receiving unwanted phone calls from a known female.

CRIMINAL TRESPASSING: A trespassing complaint was received by a female who stated a known male pulled into her driveway several times and blew the horn. She was referred to the solicitor.

THEFT: Crystal Oates of Greenfield reported someone removed her front license plate from her vehicle.

FOUND PROPERTY: Deputies located a pellet gun on Peddicord Avenue.

NOV. 8

TRAFFIC CRASH: Kevin Axline of Washington C.H. was traveling south on Jasper Coil Road and lost control of his vehicle. Axline traveled off the right side of the roadway. Axline overcorrected traveling off the left side of the roadway striking a fence. No injuries were reported. Axline was cited for failure to control.

THEFT: Felicia Hester of Washington C.H. reported that someone removed property from her vehicle while parked at a residence in New Martinsburg. The property was later recovered and returned to Hester.

NOV. 7

BURGLARY/THEFT: Bryce Conley of Washington C.H. reported that someone entered his residence and removed items from inside.

PHYSICAL CONTROL OF MOTOR VEHICLE WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE: Sheriff’s deputies received a complaint of a vehicle that had almost struck another driver. Deputies located the vehicle on Walnut Street in the Village of Jeffersonville. Upon contact, the driver appeared to be intoxicated. Billy Hensley of Jeffersonville was identified, arrested, and charged in the matter.

TRAFFIC CRASH: Daniel Gray of Hillsboro was traveling south on US 62 when a calf entered the roadway into the path of his vehicle causing a collision. No injuries were reported.

TRAFFIC CRASH: Jeffery Lyons of Jamestown was traveling east on US 35 when a deer entered the roadway into the path of his vehicle causing a collision. No injuries were reported. The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.

THEFT: Finish Line at Tanger Outlets reported someone entered the business and obtained merchandise and departed without making payment.
