On Saturday, the re-branding of Washington Court House’s local yoga studio will be celebrated with an open house.

The celebration will mark the studio’s transition from Practical Wellness to Indigo Roots Studio. The open house will be held at the studio, which is located at 118 W. Court St.

Shannon Jacobs, who owns the studio and is also a yoga instructor there, said the event is intended as both a show of customer appreciation and as an opportunity for individuals who have not yet explored the studio’s offerings to “come and just get a taste of the classes that we offer.”

In addition to offering previews of the various yoga classes that are available at Indigo Roots, the open house will also feature presentations about the holistic therapies that are offered there, including: crystal therapy, vibrational sound therapy, and Thai yoga massage.

Those who attend the open house will be gifted “swag bags” so long as supplies last and will have the opportunity to enter a raffle for a chance to win a Platinum Membership to the studio. This membership will grant the recipient the opportunity to attend 13 classes for free. Light refreshments will also be available.

Jacobs suggested that individuals who are interested in participating in one of the preview classes wear something comfortable that they can move well in. Attendees are also welcome to simply watch the classes without participating if they would prefer to do so.

Individuals of all ages and experience levels are welcome to attend. The preview classes offer a glimpse at the variety of classes and holistic therapies offered by the studio, which Jacobs said now offers nine classes a week. Two of these classes are for children, with the “mini rootlings” class for children ages 3 to 5, and the “rootlings” class for children in grades 1 through 5. Children in grades 6 and up are welcome to join adult classes. In the future, Jacobs said she may introduce a class for teenagers.

The schedule for the open house is as follows: From 8:30 a.m.-to 9:30 a.m. will be Yogatation. From 10 a.m.to 10:30 a.m. will be Chair Yoga. From 10:45 a.m.to 11 a.m. will be Guided Meditation. From 11:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. will be Rootling and Mini Rootling Yoga. From 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. there will be a presentation on Crystal Therapy. From 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. there will be a presentation on Thai Yoga Massage. From 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. there will be a presentation on Vibrational Sound therapy. From 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. there will be Yogamotion. From 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. there will be Vinyasa flow yoga. At 4:50 the name of the winner of the Platinum Membership will be drawn.

“I hope that people feel free to come and just check it out and see if there’s something that we offer that would be good for them,” said Jacobs, adding, “I really do believe that’s there’s something for everyone.”
