Fayette County Public Health conducted the following restaurant and food inspections, according to reports filed with the department.

Sept. 19

Our Place Restaurant, 827 E. Market St. Standard inspection. Critical Control Point. Violations: Management displayed fair knowledge of CCP however critical violations were present. Raw meats were found stored over ready to eat food items inside of the reach-in cooler near the kitchen door, the staff rearranged the food items so that they were properly separated immediately, also food in reach-in freezer were found uncovered. The pop nozzles and the surrounding area was found with an accumulation of food/soil residues, staff removed the pop nozzles and cleaned them and the surrounding area, also several dry food containers were found with an accumulation of soil residues, staff cleaned these containers immediately. The walk-in cooler walls were found with an accumulation of food residue.

Denny’s #8631, Jeffersonville. Standard inspection. Critical Control Point. Violations: Management displayed fair knowledge of CCP questionnaire and critical violations are present. Eggs (raw) were found stored over ready to eat food items inside of the walk-in cooler. Raw and ready to eat foods must be separated to prevent contamination. Management removed the ready to eat item to separate location. Several cups were found with food residue inside storage container. Food contact surfaces must be clean to sight and touch, these were removed and rewashed, also the ice machine was found with an accumulation of soil residue inside upper area management notified.

Several food utensils were found stored on a card board wall. Also utensils were removed from the wall and placed in a clean dry location. The other utensil were removed and stored now with handles stored outward. Food or non-food contact surfaces must be smooth and easily cleanable therefore the card board wall should be removed. The test strips for the chemical sanitizer were found expired. These areas or items were found with an accumulation of food or soil residues: Microwave near toaster, the toaster, ice cream holder, reach-in cooler near grill. The preparation cooler near the ice cream holder was found inoperable. The hand wash sink near employee dining area. Faucet will not turn off. All equipment must remain in a state of good repair. The freezer floor was found with an accumulation of food or soil residues. Must be cleaned more frequently.
