According to reports, the Washington C.H. Police Department responded to the following calls:

Sept. 14

Theft: At 2:16 p.m., an employee of Ace Hardware reported that an unknown male concealed merchandise and departed the store without paying for the items. Charges are pending the confirmation of the male’s identity.

Theft: At 5:05 p.m., Todd Ervin reported that unknown person(s) removed his 6-month-old, black and white female Husky from his yard without his knowledge or permission.

Theft/Forgery: At 7:09 p.m., Joyce Miller reported that unknown person(s) removed a check from her purse, forged it, then cashed it at an area business.

Sept. 12

Theft: At 9:35 a.m., Anthony Mason reported that unknown person(s) removed cash from his wallet sometime during the night while he was sleeping.

Theft: At 2:04 p.m., an employee of Dollar General reported that an unknown male concealed merchandise and departed the store without paying for the item.

Sept. 11

Criminal Simulation: At 2:12 p.m., officers investigated a complaint of a counterfeit bill that was passed in an attempt to purchase merchandise at Cash & Carry on North North Street. The bill was recovered and the female involved was identified as Melissa J. Strahler. She was charged with the offense.

Theft: At 4:47 p.m., Gary Berner reported that unknown person(s) removed a flat screen television from his residence without his permission.

Theft: At 6:44 p.m., an employee of Pat Catan’s reported that a male concealed merchandise and departed the store without paying for the item. The male was located and identified as Anthony T. Hall, the property was recovered and Hall was arrested. During his arrest, drug abuse instruments were located in his possession, and he was additionally charged.
