The major fundraiser of the community-service organization Altrusa International of Washington C.H., Inc., is the popular luncheon known as “Loving Spoonsful.” This year’s date for the eighth-annual tasting luncheon is Saturday, Oct. 27, with the site again the Commission on Aging, and the beneficiaries again three worthy local causes. More than 70 recipes will be prepared by the 37 Altrusans and several much-appreciated “Friends of Altrusa”; and those recipes will also appear in the souvenir cookbook, which Kroger has offered to print this year. Involved in the preliminary planning are these members of Altrusa’s Service/Loving Spoonsful committee: (clockwise from left) Melissa March, Cathy White, Diana Kirkpatrick, Gamma White, co-chairs Julie Hidy and Melynda Iles, Nancy Mowery (obscured), Glenna Parsley and Claudia Coe. Tickets will be available in early September.
