St. Catherine’s Manor and Hospice of Fayette County are teaming up to present the first in a series of “Wine and Canvas” nights hosted by St. Catherine’s Manor, located at 250 Glenn Ave. in Washington C.H.

The first evening will be held on Thursday, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. According to Holly Cottrill, marketing and fundraising coordinator with Hospice, there is no painting experience required. Each painter will be supplied with 11 by 16 inch canvas and acrylic paints.

“It will be a fun filled evening of painting and fellowship with wine and refreshments. I hope everyone will come out and support a great cause,” Cottrill said during an interview Wednesday. “When Cheryl and I were talking, we wanted to do something like a wine and paint event, but had never put one on or really knew what to do. Thanks to Cheryl, who will lead the class during the event, we have a wonderful set-up and are so excited. We have already been receiving positive feedback.”

Cost is $35 per painter with all proceeds benefiting the patients of Hospice of Fayette County and St. Catherine’s Manor. Please RSVP by Nov. 9 to Cheryl Wise at (740) 335-6391. Cheryl Wise, activity director at St. Catherine’s Manor, will be leading the group with step by step instructions, allowing each person to unleash their own creativity.

“We are very thankful for one another and are very glad we could work together on this project,” Cottrill said. “Together we are raising funds to continue and support our patients. We would like to see all that we can, but seating is limited so remember to register early. Also remember to wear old clothes you wouldn’t mind getting paint on or bring an apron to use.”
