The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has proposed widening the intersection of US-62/SR-3 and SR 38/Old Springfield Road to provide left turn lanes in both directions along US-62/SR-3.

There will be a public involvement meeting on Wednesday, July 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bloomingburg Town Hall, located at 62 Main St., to discuss this project.

The meeting will be open house format and no formal presentations will be given. Throughout the open house, personnel from ODOT and members of the project design consultant team from Carpenter Marty Transportation will be available to answer questions. Those who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or those who require translation services, which will be provided free-of-charge, should contact ODOT District 6 Project Manager Daniel Daniel Kaseman.

According to a letter from Kaseman, “the purpose of the meeting is to present the alternatives that were analyzed and the recommended preferred alternative as well as to solicit public comments regarding the proposed improvements and their social, economic, and environmental impacts. Furthermore, the meeting is an opportunity to provide your comments. While public involvement in project development will be ongoing, another open house public meeting is not planned. Therefore, we encourage your attendance at the upcoming meeting.”

Comments regarding this project must be received by Aug. 17, 2018. They may be submitted in the following ways:

They may be said or written during the meeting or they may be made via phone call, email or mail to Kaseman at 740-833-8248, [email protected], and 400 E. William Street, Delaware, Ohio 43015, respectively.

Project information, including meeting handouts and displays, will be available on the ODOT District 6 website at dot.state.oh.us/districts/d06. Also, a summary of comments made during the open comment period and responses to these comments is expected to be posted on the ODOT District 6 website within 60 days of the comment period closure date. Copies of the meeting materials will be available at the Bloomingburg Town Hall for Review.
