Justin Kelley graduated medical school from the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University on May 10 with Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Public Health (MPH) degrees.

He was presented with the Merck Manual Award from the Merck Company at graduation for scholastic achievement in medical studies. He has been honored with inductions into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health.

His journey into medicine and public health started in 2007 with his lifeguarding job at the Fayette County Family YMCA and training from the American Red Cross. He graduated valedictorian from Miami Trace High School in 2009. He completed undergraduate studies in biological sciences at WSU and graduated summa cum laude as a University Honors Scholar in 2013. He will begin pathology residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich. this summer.
