The Fayette County Commissioners recently declared this Friday and Saturday as Community Appreciation Days in Fayette County.
Crossroads Christian Church is grateful for the safe, nurturing, friendly, productive community Fayette County provides and hopes to express its appreciation to those who make the community a great place to live.
“Fayette County, Washington Court House is such a great place to live,” said Crossroads member Jon Creamer. “No, it’s not perfect. We could use more jobs and less drugs. But, from the large perspective, it’s a great place to live, work, go to school, and rear a family.”
“We simply want to express our appreciation to all those who serve us and who work so hard to enhance our quality of life,” said Pastor Todd Maurer. “I encourage everyone in the community to give a huge, well-deserved shout-out to Court House.”
During this Community Appreciation Day, the many service providers will be given token expressions of gratitude. Gourmet baked goods will be provided to the staffs of the hospital, schools, hospice, homeless shelter, and My Sister’s House. Lunches will be taken to the governmental offices of the city and county. The safety forces of the city and county will be served lunch at the Washington C.H. Fire Department at noon on Saturday.
Grilled hot dogs and popcorn will be given away on the courthouse lawn on Saturday.
A benefit concert will also be held Saturday at 6 p.m. at Crossroads Christian Church featuring the Christian-country band, 642 Grayson. The price of admission is $2 with a $5 family cap and a canned or boxed food item, and all monetary proceeds will be donated to The Well at Sunnyside, and all food donations will be given to the Fayette County Food Pantry.
