The Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department in Jeffersonville will be holding a pork tenderloin dinner to raise money for the department.

The dinner will be held this Saturday from 4 until 7 p.m. at 28 S. Main Street in Jeffersonville. The dinner will include pork tenderloin, french fries, cole slaw, a drink, and homemade dessert. The price is $8 per meal and carry-out dinners will be available.

“The money raised will go towards helping the fire department purchase and set up a digital sign in front of the fire department to show upcoming events, broadcast important information or more,” volunteer organizer Robin Beekman said during an interview Monday. “This is something they have been discussing for awhile now and are hoping they can get the support of the community to accomplish.”

A silent auction will be held in conjunction with the event to help raise even more funds. Items that are currently available for the auction include a $300 crossbow from Woodbury Outfitters, two one-night stays at Fairfield Inn, items from Travel Centers of America, a $50 gift card from Tanger Outlets, a beautiful picture, items from Love’s, some quilted baskets from Linda Hamilton, a three-month gift certificate to the Fayette County YMCA, a party basket from Detty’s Market, an item of Thirty-One, an item from Simply Home, a Texas sheet cake from David Persinger, a Coach purse, two handmade knotted blankets and homemade caramel.

“We are still collecting items for the silent auction from any area businesses that would be willing to donate something,” Beekman said. “Anyone who wants to donate an item can do so by calling me at (740) 426-8897. All donations are very appreciated and will make a difference in raising the money for the sign.”

Additionally, bricks for the foundation of the sign will be sold during the event.

“We are hoping for a good turnout for the dinner to support the fire department,” Beekman said. “Everyone is encouraged to attend. The firefighters of the Jeffersonville Fire Department are so great and we really appreciate the work they do to keep us safe here in Jeffersonville. Through this we will be able to support these wonderful men and help to beautify our hometown.”
