The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls, according to reports:

SEPT. 30

TAKING THE IDENTITY OF ANOTHER: Edward Hartshorn of Washington C.H. reported someone obtained his bank card information and withdrew money from various ATM machines without consent.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT BY INTOXICATION: Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Flying J truck stop on reports of an intoxicated female inside the business. Contact was made with the female at which time she became very uncooperative and combative. Rebecca Cowan, age 43 from South Colon, was placed under arrest and charged in the incident.

SEPT. 29

TRAFFIC CRASH: Alex Stadt of Mt.Sterling was traveling north on S.R 207 when a deer entered the roadway causing Stadt to strike the deer. No injuries were reported. The vehicle sustained moderate damage in the crash.

TRAFFIC CRASH: Cassia Cox of Washington C.H. was traveling north on S.R 41 when a white pickup traveling South traveled left of center. Cox swerved to avoid the collision and traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a guardrail. Passenger of Cox’s vehicle was transported to a medical facility for treatment. The vehicle sustained heavy damage in the crash and was towed from the scene.

TRAFFIC CRASH: Vanessa Campbell of Washington C.H. was traveling north on S.R 41 and lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a left curve. Campbell traveled across the center line of the roadway striking a guardrail. Campbell’s vehicle continued back onto the roadway and traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a second guardrail before coming to rest. No injuries were reported. The vehicle sustained heavy damage in the crash and was towed from the scene. Campbell was cited for Failure to Control.

TRAFFIC CRASH: Jessica Duffy of Washington CH, Oh was traveling north on S.R 41 and lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a left curve. Duffy traveled across the center line of the roadway striking a guardrail. Duffy’s vehicle continued back onto the roadway and traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a second guardrail before coming to rest. No injuries were reported. The vehicle sustained moderate damage in the crash.

TRAFFIC CRASH: A 17-year-old male was traveling south on S.R 41 and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a tree. The juvenile driver was transported to a medical facility for treatment of injuries. The vehicle sustained heavy damage in the crash and was towed from the scene. The driver was cited for Failure to Control.

AGGRAVATED MENACING: Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Miami Trace Middle School on reports of threats. Contact was made with male juvenile suspect who was arrested and transported to juvenile detention.

THEFT: Millard Harmon of Washington C.H. reported a known female while at his residence removed his ID without consent.

ASSAULT: Jessica Priser of Lessburg, reported while working at the Ranch of Opportunity, was assaulted by several female juveniles.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS: Wendell Gayhart of Mt. Sterling reported a known male subject was reportedly at his residence and has been advised not to be. Contact was made with male suspect at which time was advised to depart and not to return or criminal charges would be filed.

FOUND PROPERTY: Roger Lovett of Washington CH, OH reported while traveling on S.R 41 he located items in the roadway. Sheriff’s deputy collected the items and they were placed into property for safekeeping.

NEIGHBOR DISPUTE: Amber Cooper of Jeffersonville, reported while outside her apartment with her child, a known subject confronted her and began cussing at her child. Both parties were advised to cease all contact.

SEPT. 28

TRAFFIC CRASH: Robert Dillard of Blue Springs, MS was attempting to make a left turn on the lot of Flying J. Dillard failed to observe another vehicle traveling on the lot striking the vehicle on its left side. No injuries were reported. Both vehicle sustained minor damage in the crash.

TRAFFIC CRASH: Stephen Foley of Thornville, was southbound on Snow Hill Rd and lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a left curve. Foley traveled off the right side of the roadway coming to rest in a corn field. No injuries were reported. Foley was cited for Failure to Control.

THEFT: Jarrod Barton of London, reported he entered into a verbal contract with known subject to complete a remodeling project. Barton provided money to known subject for materials and the job is not completed.

THEFT: Karen Murphy of Washington C.H. reported after evicting known subjects and gaining entry into the apartment she located items missing from inside.

BURGLARY/THEFT: Richard Williamson of Washington C.H. reported someone entered his residence removing items from inside.

THEFT: Richard Williamson of Washington C.H. reported someone gained access to his debit card and used it to make numerous transactions and withdraws.

SEPT. 27

VIOLATION OF A PROTECTION ORDER: A report was made on a possible protection order

violation.

TRAFFIC CRASH: Phillip Buchanan of Waverly, was traveling north on IR 71. Buchanan exited IR71 to S.R 435. Buchanan failed to maintain assured clear distance ahead striking the rear of a vehicle operated by Melissa Nichols of Akron, OH. No injuries were reported. Buchanan was cited for Assured Clear Distance Ahead.

BREAKING AND ENTERING; THEFT: David A. Potter of Jeffersonville, reported sometime within the past seven days, someone forced entry to his rental property, removing a portable heater.

THEFT: Harold W. Green of Columbus,reported while at the northbound rest area on I-71 Green was involved in a game of chance when three unknown persons took the money from his hand fleeing the area.

ASSAULT: Mark A. Howard of Washington C.H. reported while incarcerated at the Fayette County Jail he was assaulted by another inmate. Howard declined prosecution at the time of the report.

SEPT. 26

CIVIL: Deputies responded to a Kimberly Drive address on a report of a subject being at the property that should not be there. All parties were contacted.

THEFT: James J. McGuire, Washington C.H. reported six months ago a known subject took property from his residence and failed to return it. Mr. McGuire was referred to the City Solicitor if he wished to pursue charges.

CASUALTY: Lindsey Bradley, Fairborn, reported that Neal Anders, also of Fairborn was working on a vehicle at a Yorkshire Dr, address in Jeffersonville. While working on the vehicle it rolled off the ramps and pinned Mr. Anders under the vehicle. Jefferson Twp Fire Department was able to lift the vehicle off of Mr. Anders and he was flown by MedFlight to Kettering Hospital for treatment.

THEFT: Employees of Children’s Place Outlet, Tanger Mall reported two male customers appeared to be suspicious in the business. Upon the departure the employees reviewed their video surveillance system and found that they had removed a quantity of merchandise without paying for the items. The suspects were not located.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Tiffany Lawson, Jeffersonville reported a known female approached her at her residence and began cussing at her, creating a disturbance. Ms. Lawson reported this has been an ongoing problem for several weeks.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT BY FIGHTING: Deputies responded to a report of a fight at the Waffle House. Upon arrival contact was made with one of the involved parties, a resident of Jeffersonville, who declined to give a statement and refused to cooperate with the investigation.The other party had departed the business prior to law enforcement arrival.
