The Fayette Community Band has announced its summer concert schedule.
On Sunday, July 12 the band will combine with the Fayette County Choral Society for its second-annual Patriotic/American Music program. This concert will be held in the Historic Washington Middle School auditorium at 3 p.m. Each group will perform several selections and will close the concert with two combined selections.
On Sunday, July 19 the band will perform for the fourth year in Williamsport. This program will be at 7 p.m. in the town park.
The band will close the season with its traditional concert at the Commission on Aging in Washington C.H. This 7 p.m. concert will feature the music of internationally recognized composer Mr. James Swearingen. Swearingen will be conducting several of his compositions and speaking about his career as a teacher and composer, as well as relating stories behind many of his compositions. There will be desserts available before the concert.
All of the summer concerts are free and the band looks forward to providing the community with several enjoyable evenings of band music.
