Fayette County residents instructed to use blizzard packs

The Fayette County Commission on Aging is closed Monday, Jan. 8, according to a Fayette County Sheriff’s Office message.

The agency will not be providing transportation, in house meals, or Meals on Wheels Monday due to icy road conditions.

The sheriff’s office report states that people are instructed to use their blizzard packs.

Fayette County is under a level one winter weather advisory.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington issued a winter weather advisory for Fayette County and surrounding areas beginning 6 a.m. Monday.

The weather service reports that mixed precipitation of snow, sleet, and freezing rain in the forecast until 2 p.m. will make travel difficult.
