Fayette County 4-H would like to invite 4-H eligible youth (ages 9-18) to attend the Sewing Camp on Tuesday, Jan. 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Agricultural Center meeting room, 1415 US Route 22 SW, Washington Court House (or Extension Office).

Expert sewers will help you learn to:

· Use the sewing machine and get your sewing machine license;

· How to select a pattern;

· How to cut out a pattern on fabric;

· Sew a simple skirt or shorts;

· Practice some hand stitches.

You will be provided the 4-H project book Sew Fun and encouraged to enroll in that project for 2018. By the end of the day you will have basically completed all the sewing for the Sew Fun project. To complete the 4-H project, you will need to complete the book and other requirements of 4-H members.

If you don’t have a sewing machine, sewing equipment or pattern, you can still come. If you have a sewing machine, sewing equipment, fabric and a pattern for a simple skirt or shorts that fits you, please bring it with you.

The cost is $8, which includes a pizza lunch, 4-H project book and materials.

You must make a reservation to attend. Please call 740-335-1150 by Dec. 27 to make a reservation. Call Pat Brinkman, Family and Consumer Sciences Educator, at 740-335-1150 if you have questions or email at [email protected]
