The New Holland United Methodist Women (UMW) held the 24th Senior Citizens Day Out at the New Holland school on Thursday afternoon.

Many senior residents of the county and New Holland were invited to join the UMW for a free meal and to win prizes thanks to many sponsors. The meal began with an invocation led by Larry Doss, as volunteers worked to deliver food and drinks to each and every person seated.

“A big thank you to all of the sponsors and for the people coming out to enjoy a free meal today,” UMW leader Ann Thompson said. “We have done this for 24 years now. It’s a gift to these people and God, showing that we can all love one another.”

The meal consisted of chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls and a drink of tea or water. For dessert, the UMW gave each person a slice of cake.
