According to reports, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls:

Aug. 22

Traffic Crash: A single-car motor vehicle crash was reported on State Route 41 South near Ghormley Road. Keirsten F. Clark of Franklin was transported by squad to a local area hospital for medical treatment. Clark was cited for failure to control.

Domestic Dispute: Karenda K. Strevel of Leesburg reported she was involved in a verbal dispute with a family member.

Found Property: An ODOT employee reported he located lawn equipment near a work zone on State Route 753. The item was secured.

Aug. 21

Assault: Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of Biddle Boulevard in the Village of Bloomingburg on a noise complaint. On arrival, the deputy was flagged down by a male who said he was assaulted by a known male.

Grand Theft of Motor Vehicle: Sheriff’s deputies responded to State Route 41 South in Perry Township on a motor vehicle theft. The investigation is ongoing.

Traffic Crash: Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident on US Route 62 North near the intersection of Matthews Road in Union Township. David Carson, of Mt. Sterling, was traveling south when he struck debris in the roadway, causing damage to his vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Traffic Crash: A single-car accident was reported on Greenfield-Sabina Road near Cross Road. Brad Williamson of Chillicothe was cited for failure to control.

Breaking & Entering/Theft: Melody Matthews of Jeffersonville reported that during the daytime hours, unknown persons forced entry to an outbuilding and removed several items.

Aug. 20

Traffic Crash: Robert Elkins, Jr. of Washington C.H. was traveling west on Palmer Road and lost control of his vehicle. Elkins traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. No injuries were reported. Elkins was issued a citation for failure to control.

Domestic Dispute: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Greenfield Sabina Road on a domestic incident. Upon arrival, all parties involved were identified and it was determined that no assault or threats of violence had occurred.

Criminal Damaging: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Jamison Road within Union Township on a criminal damaging report. A known male at the residence broke items inside of the home.

Traffic Crash: A two-car crash was reported on Cross and Main streets in Bloomingburg. Cheryl S. Morris of Bloomingburg was cited for improper backing.

Aug. 19

Traffic Crash: Sheriff’s deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 71 southbound in Jefferson Township. Anthony Garman of Willard, Ohio entered into a lane of travel and failed to observe a vehicle operated by Richard Jackson of Xenia. Jackson then collided with the rear of Garman’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Garman was cited for improper starting.

Breaking & Entering/Theft: An employee of Sears reported that sometime overnight unknown persons forced entry to the business and removed several items.

Theft: Old Navy at the Tanger Outlet Mall in Jeffersonville reported a theft of merchandise. During the investigation, a suspect was identified and later located. Sharon Muncie, 54, of Washington C.H., was arrested for the offense.

Traffic Crash: A pedestrian crash was reported on State Route 41 South near State Route 753. Walker Riffle of Greenfield was walking on the yellow line in the roadway when he was struck by a northbound motorist. Walker suffered minor injuries and was transported by squad to a local area hospital for medical treatment.

Aug. 18

Theft: Old Navy reported a female entered the business, obtained property and departed without making payment.

Violation of Protection Order: Karen Estep of Washington C.H. reported that a known male subject violated a protection order. Troy Estep was arrested.

Criminal Damaging: An inmate of the Fayette County Jail caused damage to the facility by breaking a window. Justin M. Wilson of Washington C.H. was charged in the offense.

Domestic Dispute: Mary L. Saunders of Jeffersonville reported she was involved in a verbal dispute with a household member.

Aug. 17

Assault: An assault was reported in the Village of Jeffersonville.

Traffic Crash: Deputies responded to a one-vehicle rollover accident on US Route 62 within Paint Township. John Castranova of Columbus was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Castranova was issued a citation for failure to control.

Deceased: Sheriff’s deputies and EMS responded to Love’s Truck Stop on reports of an unresponsive male in the shower room.

Traffic Crash: Dana Trenay of Cincinnati was traveling east on US 35 and lost control of her vehicle. Trenay traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a guardrail. The passenger in the vehicle was transported to a medical facility for treatment of injuries. Trenay was issued a citation for failure to control.

Theft: Children’s Place reported unknown person(s) entered the business, obtained merchandise and departed without making payment.

Aug. 16

Drug Paraphernalia: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Allen Road on reports of a suspicious person. Upon making contact, drug paraphernalia was located. Toni Fuller of Washington C.H. was arrested and charged in the matter.

Drug Abuse: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Bogus Road with EMS on reports of an unresponsive male. Narcan was administered by EMS and the male was transported to a medical facility for further treatment.

Traffic Crash: A two-car crash was reported on US Route 62 North near Mathews Road. The report indicates Sara Helmick of Washington C.H. was traveling southbound on 62 when her vehicle was struck by a dismounted wheel and tire from a passing motor vehicle.

Traffic Crash: A single-car crash was reported on Washington-New Martinsburg Road near Capps Road. Stephan E. Mennor of Hillsboro was transported by squad to a local area hospital for medical treatment. Mennor was cited for failure to control.

Traffic Crash: Chaitanya Mandapakala of Cincinnati was backing from a parking space on the lot of Chipotle and struck a vehicle traveling through the parking lot. No injuries were reported.

Aug. 15

Endangering Children/OVI: Sheriff’s deputies were investigating a traffic crash when it was discovered the driver of the vehicle was intoxicated and transporting two minor children. Charges were filed.

Traffic Crash: A single-car crash was reported on Fishback Road near Simmons Road. Chasity L. Gillenwater of Greenfield was cited for failure to control.

Traffic Crash: A single-car crash was reported near 9294 State Route 207. Jesse Lee Carle of Williamsport was cited for failure to control.

Criminal Trespass/Criminal Damaging: An employee of the Tanger Outlet Mall reported that sometime overnight, unknown persons trespassed on the property of the mall and damaged an outbuilding.

Theft: Richard E. Phillips of Greenfield reported an unknown person removed his personal identification from his wallet.

Domestic Dispute: Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 3000 block of State Route 38 in reference to a domestic dispute. Reports indicate that a male and female got into a verbal altercation over their child without either party being verbally or physically assaulted. The male subject left the residence for the evening.

Aug. 14

Disorderly Conduct: Jamie M. Hannah of Washington C.H. was counseled in reference to an offensive display at her residence.

Theft: Old Navy reported unknown person(s) entered the business, obtained merchandise and departed without making payment.

Protection Order Services: Deputies served a protection order in the Fayette County Jail.

Protection Order: Sheriff deputies responded to the Fayette Count Jail on the issuing of a protection order.

Aug. 13

Traffic Crash: Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 6100 block of Boyd Road. The driver of a purple Chevrolet Cavalier failed to maintain control and traveled off the left side of the roadway, overturning. The driver fled the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival.

Breaking & Entering/Theft: Sheriff’s deputies responded to a breaking and entering and theft complaint on North North Street within Union Township. Reports indicate that an unknown person or persons forced entry into a shed and removed an item. The investigation is ongoing.

Aug. 12

Attempted Suicide: Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a subject contemplating suicide. The subject denied any thought of suicide.

Drug Abuse/Drug Paraphernalia: While investigating a crash, narcotics were detected coming from a vehicle. Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and located marijuana. Rodrick Mims, of Whitehall, Ohio, was issued a summons for his court appearance on the charge.

Criminal Trespass: A Washington C.H. resident reported a known male subject was on her property and is not welcome.

Domestic Violence: Douglas Robinson of Bloomingburg reported that during a verbal altercation with a family member he was assaulted. Phillip Robinson of Bloomingburg was arrested and charged in the matter.

Criminal Mischief: Donald C. Duncan of Washington C.H. reported that during the overnight hours, unknown persons defaced his garage.

Theft: Sheriff’s deputies responded to a theft complaint at the Tanger Outlet Mall within Jefferson Township. Unknown person(s) removed property and departed without paying.

Burglary/Theft: Sheriff’s deputies responded to a burglary and theft complaint on Bogus Road within Wayne Township. Reports indicate that unknown person(s) gained entry into a residence and removed various items.

Aug. 11

Assault: Mariah C. Jones of Jeffersonville reported her child was assaulted by a known person. Prosecution was declined at the time of the report.

Aug. 10

Breaking & Entering/Theft: Adam Smith of Bloomingburg reported that during the evening hours, unknown persons entered his outbuilding and removed a zero turn mower.

Theft: Polo Ralph Lauren reported unknown person(s) entered the business, obtained property and departed without making payment.

Illegal Conveyance: Sheriff’s deputies located drugs on an inmate during the booking process at the jail.

Drug Abuse/Tampering with Evidence: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Robinson Road on a suspicious activity complaint. Upon making contact with the subjects, narcotics were located.
