According to reports, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls:

July 25

Domestic Dispute: Sheriff’s deputies responded to 71 N. Main St. in Jeffersonville on a domestic dispute. Neither party reported being threatened or assaulted.

Traffic Crash: Stacey Mayer of Washington C.H. was traveling west on State Street in the Village of Jeffersonville. Mayer failed to observed a vehicle stopping and struck the rear of the vehicle. No injuries were reported. Mayer was issued a citation for assured clear distance ahead.

Traffic Crash: Conor Cronin of Bay Village, Ohio was traveling south on Interstate 71 on the middle lane of travel. Cronin proceeded to enter the left lane and struck another vehicle traveling south. No injuries were reported. Cronin was issued a citation for marked lanes.

Assault: Christina Colter of Washington C.H. reported that during an argument with a known subject, she was assaulted.

Traffic Crash: A two-car accident was reported on US Route 62 South near the US Route 35 access road. Gary A. Crawford of Washington C.H. sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash and was treated at the scene by squad personnel. Timothy Carpenter of Hillsboro was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

Traffic Crash: A one-car crash was reported near 7584 Washington-New Martinsburg Road. Joshua Roberts of Washington C.H. was cited for failure to control.

July 24

Domestic Dispute/Theft: A domestic dispute and a theft complaint were reported on Main Street in Jeffersonville. A male and female reportedly got into an argument without either party being threatened or assaulted. Charges were declined at the time of the request.

Traffic Crash: A two-vehicle crash occurred on State Route 41 North in Union Township. Richard Jacobs of Kent, Wash. was stopped in the roadway about to turn left into the gas station when his vehicle was struck in the rear by another vehicle driven by David Mason of Jeffersonville. Minor injuries were reported. Mason was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

Theft: Sierra Tope of Jeffersonville reported that sometime during the overnight hours, unknown persons entered her parked motor vehicle and removed several items.

Civil Dispute/Fugitive from Justice: Amy L. Hart of Jeffersonville reported she was involved in a civil dispute over personal property. While investigating the complaint, it was discovered that the other involved party was entered as a wanted person. Michael J. Shorten of New Vienna was arrested without incident and was charged with theft.

Domestic Dispute: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Jasper Coil Road on a domestic incident. Upon arrival, all parties involved were identified and it was determined that no assault or threats of violence had occurred.

Found Property: Sheriff’s deputies responded to US 22 on a bicycle located in the ditch. Deputies recovered the bicycle and it was placed into property for safekeeping.

Burglary/Theft: Helen Hodge of Washington C.H. reported that unknown person(s) entered her residence and removed items from inside.

July 23

Drug Abuse: A squad was summoned for a victim who had allegedly used narcotics.

Theft: Amanda Tranner of Washington C.H. reported unknown person(s) entered her vehicle and removed items from inside.

July 22

Criminal Damaging: Dewey Jester of Bloomingburg reported unknown person(s) climbed his fence and caused damage.
