A final court hearing for a 46-year-old New Vienna man accused of calling in school bomb threats earlier this year was postponed Monday for two weeks.

Brian D. Tedrick’s final hearing was scheduled for Monday, July 31 but was moved to Monday, Aug. 14 in order to work toward a resolution and/or discuss the upcoming trial.

Tedrick is charged with inducing panic, unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, corrupting another with drugs, and 16 counts of compelling prostitution. He was arrested June 7 and was arraigned on a lengthy indictment in the Fayette County Court of Common Pleas.

It is alleged that Tedrick solicited sex from a Washington Court House City Schools student, gave the student multiple drugs over more than a year’s time for sex acts, and called bomb threats into the schools to cancel classes so that he and the student could “spend the day together getting high.” Tedrick allegedly began to give the student drugs like Oxycontin, MDMA, methamphetamine and LSD in February of 2016. The activity continued until May of 2017 when law enforcement was informed of the incidents, reports said.

Schools in Fayette County were shut down Jan. 13 and again April 20 when an anonymous person called police dispatch and said they were going to blow up the high school with pipe bombs. In each bomb threat instance the schools were searched and cleared with no explosives found. Tedrick allegedly sat in the parking lot at Washington High School when he called in the bomb threat April 20.

According to records, the student involved with Tedrick eventually came forward and provided information about the school bomb threats to the Washington Police Department.

Tedrick’s final pre-trial hearing is now scheduled for 9 a.m. Aug. 14 in the Fayette County Court of Common Pleas. Trial is scheduled for Aug. 16.

Tedrick is being held in the Fayette County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
