According to reports, the Washington C.H. Police Department responded to the following calls:

July 19

Theft/Breaking & Entering: At 1:33 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Chestnut Street in reference to a theft of a motor vehicle complaint. Contact was made with the victim, Neil J. Wolfe, who advised that person(s) unknown removed a motorcycle from the property.

July 18

Theft/Breaking & Entering: At 11:19 a.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Rose Avenue in reference to a theft complaint. Officers made contact with the victim, Loretta G. Sweeney, who advised that person(s) unknown entered a detached building and removed a lawn mower sometime in the past two weeks.

Theft: Officers responded to the 1200 block of Rawling Street in reference to a theft complaint. Officers made contact with the victim, Melissa K. Wilson, who advised that person(s) unknown removed medication from the household.

Criminal Damaging: At 11:38 p.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of Center Street in reference to a disturbance complaint. Officers made contact with the victim, Julianne M. Armstrong, who advised that the offender, Larry O. Copas, caused damage to her vehicle. Contact was made with Copas, who admitted to causing the damage. Larry O. Copas was arrested and charged with the listed offense.

July 17

Larceny: At 3:13 p.m., an employee of Court House Corner reported that someone removed merchandise that he had not purchased from the store.

Larceny: At 5:09 p.m., officers responded to a suspicious person call in the area of Grand Avenue. Officers found Cole Hagler to be in possession of merchandise from Walmart, which he had not purchased.

Domestic Violence: At 10:48 p.m., a woman reported being assaulted by her boyfriend, Joseph E. Lyons. Charges were filed.

July 16

Larceny: At 4:37 p.m., officers responded to Kroger grocery store on a call of a shoplifter. Officers found that Cole Hagler had attempted to depart the store with merchandise he had not purchased. Charges were filed.

July 14

Criminal Damaging: Officers made contact with the victim, Chelsey L. Haddox, in the 700 block of South Main Street. The victim advised that person(s) unknown slashed three tires of her vehicle. A criminal damaging report was taken on the victim’s behalf.

Theft: Officers responded to Kroger in reference to a larceny complaint. Officers observed a male depart the store with unpaid items. Officers located the offender, identified as Michael A. Lawrence, who was charged with the listed offense.

July 12

Disorderly Conduct/Obstructing Official Business: At 11:36 a.m., officers responded to an address on John Street in reference to a criminal damaging complaint. During the investigation, a male that was present was asked to leave the property and discontinue his turbulent behavior. The male, identified as Hunter D. Ballew, failed to cease his actions and was arrested for the listed offenses.

Obstructing Official Business/Assaulting Police Dog: At 12:15 p.m., officers were called to assist in attempting to locate a male who ran from Washington Municipal Court after being sentenced to jail. The male, identified as Clifford D. Morris, was located by officers in the 1100 block of Washington Avenue. Morris fled from officers into a residence and was located hiding in the basement. During his arrest, Morris struck the police K-9 officer in the rib area. Morris was taken into custody and was charged with the listed offenses.

Theft: At 7:55 p.m., an employee of Walgreens Pharmacy reported that an unknown male selected merchandise and departed the store without paying for the items.
