Meghan and Wyatt Cory were named reserve and grand champions respectively in the rabbit market meat pen of two show Tuesday at the Fayette County Junior Fair.
Each show participant presented two market meat pen rabbits to be judged. The show’s judge was Danny Long with the American Rabbit Breeders Association. He looked for uniformity of the rabbit pair and standard conformity in size and lift.
Long explained that all other rabbits presented in the show were good, too, but they did not have the uniformity of Meghan and Wyatt’s New Zealand rabbits.
The sister and brother are students at Miami Trace. This is their fourth year showing rabbits. The two did well in last year’s rabbit market show and Meghan said she won reserve grand champion and Cory placed fifth overall.
Abigail Noble was the first place champion with a pair of New Zealand rabbits in show class one. Kaleb Mitchell was the first place champion with a pair of New Zealand rabbits in show class two. Kaden Noble was the first place champion in show class three.
Laikyn Hughes was the first place champion with a pair of New Zealand rabbits in show class four. Kiersten Kulin was the first place champion in show class five.
Nicole Conrad was the first place champion with a pair of New Zealand rabbits in show class six. Ethan Smith was the first place champion in show class seven.
Lindsey Stump was the first place champion in show class eight. Janelle Arnold was the first place champion in show class nine. Elizabeth Aleshire was the first place champion in show class 10.
Johnathon Mick was the first place champion with a pair of New Zealand rabbits in show class 11. Andrea Fitzpatrick was the first place champion with a pair of California rabbits in show class 12.
Hillery Jacobs was the first place champion in show class 13. Krissy Ison was the first place champion with a pair of New Zealand rabbits in show class 14.
Morgan Reeves was the first place champion in show class 15. Blake Roberts was the first place champion with a pair of California rabbits in show class 16.
Meghan Cory was the first place champion with a pair of New Zealand rabbits in show class 17. Colin Farrens was the first place champion with a pair of New Zealand rabbits in show class 18.
Kennidi Burkhart was the first place champion with a pair of California rabbits in show class 19. Wyatt Cory was the first place champion with a pair of New Zealand rabbits in show class 20. Kassidy Hoppes was the first place champion with a pair of California rabbits in show class 21.
