The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) recently provided an update on the State Route 435 project at the U.S. 35 and I-71 intersection.

According to an announcement from ODOT, by Wednesday, July 5 both directions will be moved over to the eastbound side of the road.

“We are going to be swapping sides so they can rebuild the other half,” Breanna Badanes, public information officer for ODOT, said. “We completed the pavement repair and the drainage on the east side so now they can begin on the west.”

Badanes said this signals the halfway point for the project, which is scheduled to be completed before Thanksgiving.

“Another good thing is now drivers will be on the new pavement for an easier drive,” Badanes said. “At this point we are right on schedule, though we always aim to be quicker.”

A map from ODOT concerning the project explains that the westbound traffic will cross through the median onto the eastbound side of the road near the bridge over U.S. 35. On the other side of I-71, the westbound lane will cross back over the median to resume as normal.

During this time, Allen Road will be restricted to one lane in each direction north of 435.
