— Talena L. Wise, 53, of Frankfort, plead guilty Monday to possession of heroin, a felony of the fifth degree.

Patrol officers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol stopped a Ford Taurus for speeding on State Route 41 in Perry Township.

The two officers approached the vehicle and the driver was identified as Wise. Wise indicated she and the male passenger were on their way to her mother’s house in Frankfort and had just left Dayton after “visiting her Old man,” reports said.

The officers advised Wise was being cited for speeding and went back into the patrol car. The officers noticed the front seat passenger “lean forward into the front passenger seat floor board approximately four separate times.” The officers called the Greenfield Police Department and requested a K-9.

The police department responded and K-9 “Chica” indicated a positive response on the front passenger door. During a search, officers located four hypodermic needles, one plastic bag containing a white powder substance, 13 clear pill capsules containing a white residue, one cut straw with a white residue and one metal spoon with residue.

Wise told the officers that the needles belonged to her and were for heroin use. Wise said that before leaving Dayton she had snorted heroin and stated that she used heroin for her neck and severe daily back pain stemming from an accident several years ago, according to reports.

Wise was cited for speed and released. All evidence was collected and sent to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Crime Lab via US Mail for further analysis.

The Fayette County Court of Common Pleas referred Wise to the Fayette County Adult Probation Department for a pre-sentence investigation and sentencing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. July 10.
