SR 435/I-71 project to be completed by November

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is estimating that the reconstruction project on State Route 435 at Interstate 71 in Jeffersonville will be completed by November, weather permitting.

The $10.6 million project that began in March has made significant progress, according to ODOT. One of two eastbound lanes is now 95 percent complete and drainage upgrades on the south side are complete. The bridge on State Route 435 near the pay lake will get a brand-new deck.

In mid-June, weather permitting, both directions of traffic will be switched over to the eastbound side of the road in order for reconstruction of all lanes on the west side to begin.

All of the concrete used for this project is from a local supplier, according to ODOT.

ODOT is also reminding drivers to allow extra time to travel in the area because State Route 435 will be reduced to one lane in each direction, instead of two. All exits are open but are reduced in width.
