Fayette County Farm Bureau and Fayette SWCD to host third-annual Paddle & Learn Canoe Float

Fayette County Farm Bureau, in partnership with Fayette Soil & Water Conservation District, will be hosting their third-annual Paddle & Learn Canoe Float on Saturday, June 10.

This family-oriented event is designed to highlight local watersheds and educate participants as they explore a river from the unique perspective of floating down it. At the end of the float, guests will be treated to an old-fashion ice cream social.

Participants will park where the float will end. Parking will be available at the State Route 753 bridge, where it crosses over Paint Creek, outside of Greenfield. Once you are on the 753 bridge, follow the signs. A shuttle service will transport guests and their canoes to the starting point.

This event is a great way to explore nature with family and learn about Fayette County’s water resources. Bottled water will be provided, but it is recommended guests bring sun screen and hats.

For more information and to reserve a spot, please call 937-382-4407 or email [email protected]. Cost is $10 for Farm Bureau members, $20 for non-members. Price includes your choice of a canoe or kayak, transportation, water and ice cream. Individuals bringing their own canoe or kayak will receive a $5 discount.
