A new family healthcare clinic and urgent care office opened in Washington Court House recently. Thompson Family Healthcare, 2 Commercial Ave., was welcomed by the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon cutting.

The cash-based, full-service family healthcare clinic/urgent care will be open evenings and weekends. No appointment is needed and no insurance is accepted. Michelle Thompson is the clinic’s owner and certified nurse practitioner.

Thompson has been a registered nurse for over 15 years. She obtained her master’s degree as a nurse practitioner from Otterbein University in 2010. Her inspiration to become a nurse practitioner partly stemmed from her two nursing instructors and mentors, Carolyn Campbell and Mary Jo Wall.

Michelle and her husband raised their three daughters in a small local community. “Living in a small community helped to influence my decision to open my own practice. Thompson Family Healthcare is excited to be a part of the healthcare community,” said Thompson.
