The second-annual “Chocolate Walk” is coming to downtown Washington Court House on Saturday, April 29 to bring attention, customers and excitement to the historic downtown community, according to organizers.

Once again, Main Street Fayette, the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, and Fayette Travel and Tourism are hosting the event, which will be held from 1-4 p.m.

“We would like your business to participate in this fun and delicious program,” said Jolinda Van Dyke, executive director of Fayette Travel and Tourism. “Last year’s event was a success and we look forward to a great event again this year.”

There will 150 tickets sold for $15 each with proceeds going toward future downtown events. Participating businesses should be prepared to offer something “chocolate” for 150 ticket holders. It could be anything from cookies, mints, fruit or nuts dipped in chocolate, candy, a chocolate fountain, or anything else the imagination conjures up. Wine may also be served during the event.

Only ticket holders will be entitled to receive the treats. For suggestions or more information, contact Mekia Rhoades at 740-313-7062 or Anne Quinn at 740-335-2540, ext. 17.

To add to the fun, there will be music playing on the courthouse lawn and an information booth to answer questions for participants. Each ticket holder will receive a map of all participating businesses and each business will check off the map of the ticket holder to indicate that business has been visited. Only participants who have visited each store will be entered into a drawing for prizes (must be present to win).
