According to reports, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls:

Jan. 28

Possessing Drug Abuse Instruments: Sheriff’s deputies responded to State Route 41 on a report of a female who had locked herself in the bathroom. The female was transported by EMS to a medical facility for treatment. During the investigation items of drug paraphernalia were located.

Fire: Darcy Leach of Washington C.H. reported the chimney at her residence caught fire. Greenfield and Wayne Township Fire responded to the scene to extinguish the fire.

Domestic Dispute: Deputies were dispatched to a domestic incident at Woodsview Court in Jeffersonville. Upon completion of their investigation, it was determined there was no assault or threat of violence.

Jan. 27

Traffic Crash: Randall Mckenze of Mt. Sterling was traveling north on US 62 and lost control of his vehicle. Mckenze traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. Mckenze refused medical treatment at the scene. He was issued a citation for failure to control.

Traffic Crash: Donald Clinton of Sabina was traveling south on Allen Road and lost control of his vehicle on inclement roadways. Clinton traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported.

Traffic Crash: Michael Wise of Leesburg was traveling north on Washington New Martinsburg Road and struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported.

Traffic Crash: Robert Tigner of Circleville was traveling west on US 22 and lost control of his vehicle on inclement roadways. Tigner traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck the ditch. No injuries were reported.

Traffic Crash: Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single vehicle accident that occurred on State Route 41 North near Civic Drive in Union Township. Travis Langley of Nelsonville, Ohio was traveling northbound on State Route 41 when he went left of center and struck a guardrail, then overcorrected back across the centerline, and traveled off the right side of the roadway, coming to rest in a field. No injuries were reported.

Assault: Brittany Swaggerty of Jeffersonville reported she was assaulted by unknown person(s).

Traffic Crash: Sheriff’s deputies responded to an accident that occurred on US Route 35 westbound near the 5 mp. Michael Mount of Chillicothe was traveling westbound when the trailer he was hauling came loose from his tractor, sliding off the right side of the roadway and striking a guardrail before coming to rest. No injuries were reported. Mount was cited for insecure load.

Jan. 26

Theft: Stacy Everhart of Washington C.H. reported that during an online transaction, unauthorized money was taken.

Illegal Conveyance: An inmate returning from court was found in possession of cigarettes during a routine pat-down.

Passing Bad Checks: Love’s Truck Stop reported that an unknown person wrote them a check, which was later returned as insufficient funds.

Possessing Drug Abuse Instruments: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Market Street in the Village of Bloomingburg with EMS on a report of an unresponsive person. While on scene several items of drug paraphernalia were located.

Burglary/Theft: Brice Graham of Greenfield reported person(s) unknown entered his residence and removed items from inside.

Domestic Dispute: Sheriff’s deputies responded to State Route 41 on a domestic incident. Upon arrival, all parties involved were identified and it was determined that no assault or threats occurred.

Domestic Dispute: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Washington New Martinsburg Road on a domestic incident. Upon arrival, all parties involved were identified and it was determined that no assault or threats had occurred.

Jan. 25

Disorderly Conduct: Meghan Spears of Washington C.H. reported a known person left his residence and began to curse her.

Menacing: Heather Dawson reported receiving threats from a known subject. Dawson refused prosecution in the matter.

Intimidation of a Witness: A witness in a case reported being threatened by a know person concerning a pending court case.

Fire: Sheriff’s deputies responded to US 22 on reports of a vehicle fire. Upon arrival the fire was extinguished. The vehicle sustained minor damage.

Jan. 24

Theft: An employee reported an unknown male entered the store and concealed several shirts and then departed without paying.

Domestic Dispute: Deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of Leslie Trace on a domestic incident. Upon the completion of the investigation, it was determined that no violence or threats of violence occurred.

Unruly: Deputies responded to the 3000 block of U.S. 22 on a domestic incident. Upon completion of the investigation, it was determined that a 17-year-old female had struck household members and caused damage to the residence. The 17-year-old was arrested and transported to JDC.

Criminal Mischief: Jamie Hannah of Washington C.H. reported that person(s) unknown caused damage to her vehicle overnight.

Assault/Public Indecency: While at a bus stop, a 9-year-old male assaulted an 11-year-old female and then allegedly exposed himself to the female. The 9-year-old male was transported to JDC and charged in the incident.

Theft: Joel Slaughter of Cleves, Ohio reported that while his work van was parked on the lot of Hampton Inn, person(s) unknown gained entry and removed tools from inside.

Domestic Dispute: Sheriff’s deputies responded to North Main Street on a domestic incident. Upon arrival, all parties involved were identified and it was determined that no assault or threats occurred.

Violation of Protection Order: Shannen Royer of Sabina reported receiving phone calls from a known subject. Charges were filed.

Criminal Mischief: Jamie Hannah of Washington C.H. reported person(s) unknown put an unknown substance inside the radiator of her vehicle.

Jan. 23

Unruly Juvenile: A 16-year-old male was reported to be unruly in the residence and was threatening to harm himself. The child was contacted and at the request of the parent was transported to Fayette County Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

Traffic Crash: Jeffrey Porter of Coshocton reported that he was eastbound on State Route 435 and attempted to make a left turn onto West Lancaster Road. Porter turned too sharply and drove into the ditch to the west of West Lancaster Road where it became stuck in the ditch. Porter was cited for failure to control.

Theft/Tampering with Coin Machines: Employees of Village Marathon in Jeffersonville reported someone had removed the coin box from a vending machine located outside their business.

Attempted Suicide: Deputies responded to a request for a welfare check following a threat of suicide. The victim was located and denied any threats or suicide attempts, and was left in the care of other family members.

Telephone Harassment: Katlynn Smith of Washington C.H. reported she had been receiving unwanted text messages from a known subject. The suspect was contacted and advised of the complaint and was instructed to cease contact with the victim.

Jan. 22

Traffic Crash: Christopher Patton, of Cleveland, reported he was backing into a parking space at the Love’s Truck Stop when he backed into a parked unoccupied truck on the lot. Both vehicles sustained minor damage.

Theft: Employees of Kay’s Jewelry, Tanger Mall reported that a male subject departed the store with merchandise without making payment for the items.

Domestic Dispute: Sheriff’s deputies responded to US 22 on a domestic incident. Upon arrival, all parties involved were identified and it was determined that no assault or threats had occurred.

Failure to Change Address: Upon sheriff’s deputies verifying the address of a sex offender, it was found the offender may no longer be residing there. The investigation is pending.

Theft: Garret Grubb of Washington C.H. reported that while his vehicle was disabled on State Route 41 near Staunton Sugar Grove Road, person(s) unknown removed property from the vehicle.

Jan. 21

Theft: Employees of the Sunglass Hut Outlet, Tanger Mall, reported several customers removed a quantity of sunglasses from the business without paying for them.

Jan. 20

Passing Bad Checks: Lowell Lawson of Washington C.H. reported he received a check from Yahia Alcharbaji, of Centerville, that was subsequently returned for lack of funds. Lawson was contacted on Jan. 23 and reported Alcharbaji had made restitution for the check in cash and he no longer wished to pursue the matter.

Passing Bad Checks: Lowell Lawson of Washington C.H. reported receiving a check from a known subject. Upon deposit, the check was returned.

Theft: Sun Glass Hut reported an unknown person entered the business and departed with merchandise without making payment.

Jan. 19

Domestic Dispute: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Bogus Road on a domestic incident. Upon arrival, all parties involved were identified and it was determined that no assault or threats occurred.

Theft/Criminal Trespass: Milton Bowens of Louisville, Ky. reported person(s) unknown siphoned fuel from his semi-tractor while parked at Baymont Inn.

Assault: Meghan Spears of Washington C.H. reported that while in a verbal altercation, she was assaulted. Joshua Ely, Chelsey Gordon and Shelby Travis of Washington C.H. were arrested and charged in the matter.

Theft: Donald Bennett of Washington C.H. reported person(s) unknown removed tools from his unlocked work truck.

Traffic Crash: A 16-year-old female juvenile reported that while attempting to park in a parking space, she struck another vehicle in the left side. The other vehicle, owned by Lisa Wolfe, Jeffersonville, sustained minor damage, as did the juvenile’s vehicle.
