A Jeffersonville man found unresponsive in a restroom by a co-worker who forced the door open and found him on the floor will spend 180 days in a community-based treatment center for drug abuse.

The treatment was ordered by the Fayette County Court of Common Pleas Dec. 5 as a part of a plea and sentencing order for Nicholas W. Glispie, 28, after he plead guilty to possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

The Fayette County Court of Common Pleas ordered Glispie to complete 180 days in the Monday or SEPTA program for addiction and substance abuse treatment. Additionally Glispie was ordered to be supervised by the Fayette County Adult Probation Office for a period of three years. He received a six-month driver’s license suspension and ordered to pay the costs for prosecution.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a call March 16 after the life squad was summoned to the 100 block of State Street in Jeffersonville.

The sheriff’s office reported that Glispie had been in the restroom prior to a shift meeting at his place of employment. Glispie did not come out of the restroom and the meeting had started so a co-worker knocked on the door. There was no response and eventually the co-worker forced entry into the restroom and found Glispie unresponsive on the floor. The employee moved Glispie to the break room and called the life squad. Glispie was treated with Naloxone for an opioid overdose and was transported to Fayette County Memorial for additional treatment.

According to the sheriff’s office, Glispie had removed a hypodermic needle from his pocket and the squad had disposed of it inside of a Sharps container in the squad.

If Glispie violates the terms of the sentencing agreement, he could spend 12 months in prison for the drug possession charge.
