Ater is majoring in nursing. She is the daughter of Randy and Stephanie Ater of Washington Court House. Ater is a 2015 graduate of Miami Trace High School.

Young Life centers on Jesus Christ, helping kids, building relationships and cultivating leaders. Members extend their relationship with Christ outside of the church by reaching out to local teenagers. Ashland University’s close proximity to five different high schools allows ample opportunities for Young Life to create friendships with local high school kids and introduce them to the foundations of their organization. Volunteer leaders are trained and discipled for a lifestyle of relational ministry.

Ashland University – ranked in the top 200 colleges and universities in U.S. News and World Report’s National Universities category for 2016 – is a mid-sized, private university conveniently located a short distance from Akron, Cleveland and Columbus.
