The Washington High School Class of 1956 celebrated their 60th class reunion recently at the Ware Party Barn.

The registration table was decorated with a blue and white vase containing the class flower of red carnations. Upon signing in, members received a glass tumbler with “Class of 1956, 60th Reunion” in blue and a small laser flashlight. Members were also given a program for the evening that contained the members’ addresses.

Members were seated at tables decorated with small mums and pumpkins. Robert Cotner welcomed the members. Invocation was given by Larry Bishop. A delicious baked steak and chicken dinner was catered by The Willow.

Following the dinner, members re-introduced themselves and were asked to tell what they have been doing in their retirement years.

Upon lighting of a candle, a memorial service led by Robert Crouse and Bishop was held for the 37 deceased members of the class.

The reunion committee was introduced. They were Betty Adams Fulwider, Mary Ellen Allison Cartwright, Patty Anderson Lucas, Bishop, Nancy Aills Bonecutter, Alford Carr, Cotner, Crouse, Robert Stackhouse, Sidney Terhune and Mary Ann Welty Oberschlake.

A door prize drawing was held to give away the mums that decorated the tables.

In closing, Sidney Terhune led the members in singing the Alma Mater.

The remainder of the evening was spent reminiscing.
