Buckeye Tailgate set for Nov. 25

After three months of planning, the 11th-annual Beat Michigan, Buckeye Tailgate party is about to kick off, and the Jeffersonville and Washington Court House Lions invite the entire community to support this great event on Nov. 25.

Food will be provided by Denny Smith of The Willow and Smoking Joe Garland. The evening will include silent and live auction items, which includes numerous Buckeye items, just right for upcoming holiday shopping.

Trevor Zahara is the feature for the evening. Zahara has been an usher for 18 years at “The Shoe” and will relate his more humorous experiences along with some of his wilder tales from his college days. It will be an evening that attendees will talk about for a long time.

The two Lions clubs also conduct a raffle for the event. The top prize is two tickets (worth at least $500) to the noted match between Ohio State and “That Team Up North.” The drawing for the tickets will be held this Friday, Nov. 18 in order to give the winner advance notice of his/her sure-to-be memorable experience. Second prize is a 50-inch HD TV. Other prizes include a Kindle Fire HD tablet reader and $200 cash. Need not be present to win any prize.

Tickets for the Tailgate Party are $20 per person and raffle tickets are $5 each or five for $20. They can be purchased from any WCH or Jeff Lion or by calling 740-335-1107. If you want raffle tickets, you need to hurry because the drawing is THIS Friday.

Proceeds for the event are donated to area food pantries and used to support various Lions sight-saving programs.
