The LIFE Pregnancy Center Banquet, held on Sept. 22 at Grace Community Church, brought together over 200 guests to celebrate the work being done at the Center, “For the Glory of God.”
It was an evening of great fellowship, great food and great support for this life-affirming ministry.
The complementary meal was catered by Streetside 62 Bistro. The Gathering Place Praise Team sang the inspirational song, “God of This City.” The song lyrics ….”for greater things have yet to come, and greater things are still to be done in this city,” captured the essence of the LIFE Center’s vision to build a new facility.
Barbara Fox, director, shared the importance of the consulting and ultrasound programs that help educate and encourage women during their pregnancy decision. She explained that through the pregnancy and parenting programs, moms and dads receive material gifts as well as educational, emotional and spiritual support.
She suggested that, “the new facility, located at Fayette Street and Broadway Street, will create a welcoming environment to reach all women during an unplanned pregnancy.” The new Center will also consolidate all services at one location and allow expansions of the abstinence, abortion recovery and father’s ministry programs.
The guests were invited to watch a touching video presentation set to the song “Untold,” by Matthew West. Via this virtual tour, the audience heard very moving and LIFE changing stories from the moms who have received helped through the Center.
Kirk Walden, who was the distinguished guest speaker, gave the vision that pregnancy centers could be the first choice for women in an unplanned pregnancy. He told the audience that, “Centers are changing the culture because we listen and care about every person and we view every life as a gift.” He challenged everyone to believe that ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary things.
The banquet donors made financial gifts of over $69,000 and pledged over $24,000. These substantial contributions added to the earlier fundraising efforts and helped the Center reach the targeted amount necessary to break ground.
The LIFE Pregnancy Center would like to thank this generous community for all the support.
