A narcotics-related search warrant served at a Beacon Street home Monday night resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the recovery of heroin and marijuana.

Shortly before 9 p.m. Monday, members of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and the US 23 Major Crimes Task Force executed the search warrant at 1983 Beacon St. in Washington C.H.

According to Sheriff Vernon Stanforth, the search warrant led to the apprehension of two people and the seizure of an undisclosed amount of money, several articles of drug paraphernalia, and “substances presumptively identified” as heroin and marijuana from inside the home.

Those arrested were William L. Pointer, 38, of Dayton and April L. Wilson, 24, of Washington C.H.

Pointer was arrested on an outstanding warrant for trafficking in drugs and is currently being held in the Fayette County Jail on that charge. He is also being held on a parole violation detainer from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.

Wilson was taken into custody and is being held without bond in the jail for a violation of probation warrant, issued by the Fayette County Adult Probation Department.

“Detectives are continuing their investigation and anticipate further criminal charges in the matter,” said Stanforth. “The case will be presented to the Fayette County Prosecutor’s Office for review and determination of additional charges.”
