A Washington Court House man with two prior domestic violence convictions was sentenced to 180 days in the Fayette County Jail Monday.

During a sentencing hearing in the Fayette County Court of Common Pleas, Heath A. Gordon, 41, plead guilty to two counts of an indictment for domestic violence with two priors and violation of a protection order.

According to court records, Gordon assaulted his girlfriend Aug. 8.

The victim and Gordon were watching a band play at Walnut Lake Campground when Gordon told her she was “staring at the bass player too much” and he was going to “punch me in the face and drag the player in the band off stage and beat him up,” according to reports.

She said she walked away, but after the show Gordon was at a campsite with his friends, and she asked him to leave the campground. She described that he told her no, and proceeded to chase her and hit her until she fell to the ground, where he continued to kick and punch her until two men intervened and told Gordon to get off of her.

Gordon told the victim that he wasn’t scared to go back to prison and that he would “make sure he (expletive) me up good,” reports said.

The victim was taken to Fayette County Memorial Hospital, where she was treated for lacerations on her face and bruising on her back and legs. A protection order was filed in the Washington C.H. Municipal Court Aug. 8.

Court documents show the victim had a protection order in place against Gordon in the Chillicothe Municipal Court June 9.

A Fayette County man said that he had allowed the victim and Gordon to stay at his house for approximately three weeks, but had been unaware of any prior domestic violence between the two.

The victim said that she was trying to “let it go” and was trying to make their relationship work, according to reports.

Gordon was convicted of domestic violence in 1998 and again in 1999.

Court records indicate Gordon is facing three menacing charges filed June 16 and one charge of criminal mischief, a case that is pending in the Chillicothe Municipal Court in Ross County.

Gordon was ordered to pay the costs for prosecution and was transported to the Correctional Reception Center in Orient, Ohio.
