Thrill in the ‘Ville

The Jeffersonville Festival Association is proud to present the 2016 “Thrill in the Ville” at a new location in the village this Saturday.

“The biggest thing would be that we moved to a new location and will be at the Jeffersonville Park this year,” association co-chair Tracey Rankin Coe said. “We will have three rides this year as a new added attraction and two bands coming to perform.”

Currently a list of events are scheduled. They include a silent auction at the info booth from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. (with the winner being announced at 9:30 p.m., must be present to win), a Selfie Scavenger Hunt from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. (all entries need to be in by 9 pm. and judging will be held at 9:30, winners receive a $25 gift card), a bale toss at 11 a.m., a skillet toss at noon, carnival games will run from noon to 7 p.m. (tickets are four for $1 or 15 for $3), a kiddie tractor pull at 1 p.m. (sponsored by BSA Troop 67 and has a $1 entry fee), a pie eating contest at 2 p.m., hayrides for $2 per person or two canned food items from 2:30 to 4 p.m., rides will be available from 4 to 11 p.m., and Zombie Rob’s Haunted Hayrides will be from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. and are $5.

To round out the list, a photo booth will be available from 2 to 7 p.m. to capture a memory from the event, the Adult, Children’s and Pet Costume Contest with the selection of Little Mr. and Mrs. Thrill in the Ville will be at 3:30 p.m. (register by 3:25 p.m.) and finally at 7 p.m., the village will see the Thrill in the Ville Parade of Lights. Potential parade participants can call Rankin Coe at (740) 572-2096 to join.

“We want everyone to come out to Thrill in the Ville, not just Jeffersonville residents,” Rankin Coe said. “If you have nothing to do Saturday, come on out to Jeffersonville. Additionally, our trick-or-treat is also on Saturday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.”

Musical guests Damaged, performing from noon to 3 p.m., and Johnny Lawless, performing from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., will entertain guests will live music. DJ Larry Detty will entertain the crowd from 3:30 to 8 p.m.

The Jeffersonville Festival Association will have its food booth open from 4 to 8 p.m. selling hot dogs, coney dogs and chili, and the Jefferson Township Fire Department will be serving pork tenderloin sandwiches and fries at the fire department from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
