A Washington C.H. woman who admittedly pawned items and burglarized a home was sentenced to prison Monday.

Tisha L. Dunn, 43, will serve a total prison sentence of three years on two cases for receiving stolen property, a felony of the fifth degree, and burglary, a felony of the second degree.

She was indicted for burglary in July after she attempted to enter an occupied home in Washington C.H.

Dunn, along with Kristina Hurtt, approached a home on Spring Lake Avenue. Hurtt climbed in through the window and told Dunn she would open the door for her, but the two were confronted by the homeowner who had been taking a nap. Dunn and Hurtt were arrested in Washington C.H. after the homeowner reported the incident and gave a deputy sheriff a picture of the van the two had driven off in.

Hurtt was sentenced for her participation in the home burglary to three years in prison.

Dunn was then indicted in August for receiving stolen property and theft after she pawned more than $1,000 in miscellaneous items. According to police records, those items included jewelry, coins, a video recorder, and a handgun. Records indicate that pawn shop employees told law enforcement that Dunn had been pawning a lot of items recently.

According to the reporting officer in the case, the handgun belonged to a family member of Dunn and had reported it as missing, saying that Dunn was the last person who had been in the home. The family member reportedly told the officer that Dunn had been known to have a heroin problem and later identified several pieces of their property at a pawn shop.

Dunn was ordered to a mandatory three-year post-release supervision period. She was credited with 77 days in the Fayette County Jail and was transported to Corrections Reception Center in Orient, Ohio to commence her sentence.
