FCMH becomes ‘Veterans Choice’ member

0

Fayette County Memorial Hospital (FCMH) recently became a member of the “Veterans Choice Program” in order to better assist veterans.

The Veterans Choice Program allows eligible veterans who live more than 40 miles away from a Veteran Affairs (VA) facility and those who are unable to get a VA appointment within 30 days of their preferred date, or 30 days of the date determined by their provider, to receive care from a non-VA health care provider in their community.

FCMH would like to assist veterans in receiving the full benefits of this program. Veterans are encouraged through the VA to contact Health Net Federal Services, at 886-606-8198, or through their website at www.hnfs.com. Veterans will need to gain authorization for all care under this program, and are encouraged by the VA to access health care through the Health Net’s comprehensive Patient-Centered Community Care (PCCC) network.

However, the Veterans Choice Program does allow veterans to choose a non-PCCC provider when one is not available, or if the veteran has a preference for another community provider closer to home. Fayette County Memorial Hospital, while working with the Health Net, will help the veterans determine if they are eligible for this benefit.

The staff at FCMH is dedicated to providing quality care to their veterans, and will assist them with the “one on one” support they want to receive the health care benefits that they need through the Veterans Choice Program, and through the services provided at Fayette County Memorial Hospital and Associates.

For more information on the VA Choice Program and how the staff at FCMH can help bring your veterans service benefits closer to home, please contact Fayette County Memorial Hospital patient advocate, Mindy Juillerat at (740) 333-2861.

Fayette County Memorial Hospital is a critical access hospital (25 bed hospital) with over 30 healthcare providers, complete with a full spectrum of healthcare services.
