With Summer Reading Program just a few weeks away, Carnegie Library and Jeffersonville Library are planning something for everyone! Adults, teens and children are encouraged to read, read, read! The library will also host lots of family programs, Fayette Fieldtrips, and more to festoon your stay-cation or complement your vacation! We look forward to seeing you at the library this summer!

Stop by the Carnegie Public Library to see the newest works from Creative Court House! Photos on display at the library are the work of students who participated in a beginning and intermediate photography workshop. The classes covered camera basics, aperture/shutter speed, how to use your camera settings to maximize available light using flash and reflectors, basic composition, tips and tricks for better portraits, and more! Stop by the library or check out Court House Creative on Facebook for more information about upcoming classes. Photos will remain on display until May 27.

Adults: Coming up, Chris Parsons from “MUFON” (Mutual UFO Network) will visit the library to speak with the community about his years of research into the phenomenon of unidentified flying objects, and to hear about the personal experiences of individuals in our community. “MUFON” has been featured on CNN, History Channel, National Geographic, and more! Check out their website at www.mufon.com, then join us Saturday, May 21 at 12 p.m. in the library meeting room!

For kids: Preschool Storytime and Books & Blocks is on hiatus until June 7. While the librarians busy themselves with Summer Reading Program preparations, Sarah Sowell from OSU Extension will visit for three special programs for all preschoolers! “Yummy in My Tummy Story Time” will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday May 10, 17, and 24. Join us! The next meeting of the Carnegie Youth Garden Club will take place on Saturday, May 14 at 11 a.m. We will plant our garden using the tomato seedlings from the first meeting, as well as some other garden goodies!

In Jeffersonville: Every Tuesday at 11 a.m., come listen to stories, play instruments, create crafts, and socialize with other little friends at Toddler Time. Each week is a new theme! May 10 is “Cowboy Day!” The following week, on Monday, May 16 children of all ages are invited to a “Cowboy Party!” Make horses, lasso some cows, and play horseshoes! Space is limited, so call and register your cowpokes today!

Information about all of our programs may be found on the library’s website www.cplwcho.org, or by calling the Washington Court House Library at 740-335-2540 and the Jeffersonville Library at 740-426-9292. All programs are FREE, unless otherwise noted. Check us out on Facebook; follow us on Twitter!
