Country Cooking with Lou Ann: Taco Salad dip

Hello! When my husband Don tells me, “there’s a game on this weekend I want to watch,” I know that means he is planted in front of the TV for the day.

With that said, it gives me the opportunity to make this dish to keep him occupied with food and the TV while I’m off on other ventures, like sewing or organizing.

My sister-in-law, Barb, introduced me to this quick and fabulous dip. It’s one of my “go to” recipes if someone stops by.

Taco Salad dip

-16 oz sour cream

-8 oz cream cheese (softened)

-1, 1/4 oz of taco seasoning mix

-2 cups shredded lettuce

-1 cup diced tomatoes

-8 oz shredded mozzarella cheese

-8 oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese

-Tortilla chips for dipping

First, mix sour cream, cream cheese and taco seasoning with a mixer until well blended. Put in bottom of a 9-by-13 inch dish.

Next, layer lettuce, tomatoes, Mozzarella cheese and cheddar cheese. Chill.

Serve with tortilla chips to dip with. Enjoy!
