Coming up on Tuesday, Oct. 23, both libraries will be closed all day for staff development. Later this month, on Tuesday, Oct. 30 is “Halloween Storytime” in both Washington Court House (10:30 a.m.) and Jeffersonville (11 a.m.). Bring your little ones in costume for stories and more! Then, on Wednesday, Nov. 7, stop in between 4 p.m.-6 p.m. for OSU Extension’s “Master Gardener Q&A and Recruitment!” Learn more about the Master Gardener Program, ask Sara Creamer, Master Gardener program coordinator, and other Master Gardeners your plant and gardening questions, or sign up for the 2019 program which begins Jan. 29.

Adults: We are excited to offer “Drop In and Chill Out” coloring for adults Tuesday, Oct. 16 between 2 p.m.– 4 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 20 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Meet a friend, or stop by on your lunch break or between errands to color your cares away. Supplies will be provided.

Teens: Have you heard about “Hogwarts Escape Room 2.0”? Registration is now open for tweens and teens in grades 6-12. The dates and times are top secret, so call the Children’s Department at 740-335-2540 to register yourself or your group for this challenge – fit for only the keenest of Harry Potter fans!

In Washington Court House: Welcome to storytime! Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. is Preschool Storytime! This program is for children 3 – 5 years old, while Thursdays are Books & Blocks for children 1 – 3 years old. Each week features a new theme! Siblings are welcome at either session. Also, each Tuesday at 11:15 a.m., the library will host “Books & Babies!” “Books & Babies” is a 15-minute session specifically created for our youngest patrons to look at board books, do finger plays, bounce on laps and explore. This early literacy time will introduce your baby to the library and the world of books! Have you heard about “Code Club?” The library is looking for coders (non-coders) ages 8-18. On Thursdays from 4 p.m. – 5 p.m., attendees will learn to make games, apps, websites and animations! “Code Club” is relaxed, so come when you can and learn at your own pace.

In Jeffersonville: On Monday, Oct. 15th, drop in between 4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. with your young ones ages 3 and up to make a sweet treat for your sweetie! “Sweetest Day” is Saturday, Oct. 20. Be prepared! As always, Tuesdays at 11 a.m., you are invited to listen to stories, play instruments, create crafts and socialize with other little friends at Toddler Time!
