Fayette County readers are off to a fantastic start this summer! So far, more than 300 Fayette County kids have set their reading goals. Visit the library in Washington Court House or Jeffersonville to learn more about the “Summer Reading Adventure!”

Have you experienced a “Fayette Field Trip?” This summer, adults are invited to participate in a tour of Washington Cemetery on Wednesday, June 13 at 10 a.m. (meet at Judy Chapel in Washington Cemetery.) Please register upstairs at the adult desk. Then, on Wednesday, June 13 at 11 a.m., join us for the Jeffersonville Water Treatment Plant Tour (meet at the library), or go to the fire department tour in Washington Court House where you will learn all about the fire equipment! Check out the library’s website at www.cplwcho.org for the full calendar of events, the summer newsletter and more! These quality, educational and fun programs are made possible by community donations and grants. Join us!

Coming up: on Friday, June 15 at 1 p.m., community members of all ages are invited to meet “Ironwood Wolves” at Grace United Methodist Church. Learn the life, habitat, myths and facts about wolves. You will greet a real wolf, but no petting! Then, on Tuesday, June 19 from 10 a.m. -2 p.m. is “Resume Drop-in!” Job seekers are invited to join Mike Cooper from Ohio Means Jobs for assistance with creating, updating or polishing their resume. Stop in the adult department to meet with Mike for this one-on-one help.

In Washington Court House: Welcome to storytime! Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. is Preschool Storytime! This program is for children 3 – 5 years old while Thursdays are Books & Blocks for children 1 – 3 years old. Each week features a new theme! Siblings are welcome at either session. Also, each Tuesday at 11:15 a.m., the library will host “Books & Babies!” “Books & Babies” is a 15-minute session specifically created for our youngest patrons to look at board books, do finger plays, bounce on laps and explore. This early literacy time will introduce your baby to the library and the world of books! On Tuesday, June 12 at 1 p.m., friends from the Fayette Regional Humane Society will visit to teach us how to take care of our pet friends. This is an event is for all ages. Then, on Thursday, June 14 at 4 p.m., children in grades 3-6 are invited to “Rock These Blocks!” In this Lego League we will work with motors, programmable Legos, and Lego Mindstorms! Join in on the hands-on building fun!

In Jeffersonville: As always, Tuesdays at 11 a.m. you are invited to listen to stories, play instruments, create crafts, and socialize with other little friends at Toddler Time!
