Have you met “Libby?” You can borrow thousands of ebooks and audiobooks from your local library (that’s us!) using “Libby!” You can borrow them, instantly, for free, using just the device in your hand. It takes just a few taps to find and borrow a title. This fresh, user-friendly ebook reader and audiobook player is simple to use and manage. “Libby” allows you to sign in with multiple library cards, sample any book with a tap, track your reading history, send borrowed materials to your Kindle, download books and audiobooks for offline reading, or stream them to save space, and more!

Carnegie Library and Jeffersonville Library circulate more than 1,000 ebooks each month, and the Ohio Digital Library is set to circulate 4 million items in 2017! Ohio is a leader in public library use, including digital loans. Stop in for more information, sign up for a “Tech Tutor” session with us in January, or check out https:ohdbks.overdrive.com or your app store for more information. You will love “Libby!”

In Washington Court House: Young ones and caregivers, join us for storytime! Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. is Preschool Storytime, children 3 – 5 years old, and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. is Books & Blocks, children 1 – 3 years old. Each week features a new theme! Siblings are welcome at either session. Also, each Tuesday, at 11:15 a.m., the library will host “Books & Babies!” “Books & Babies” is a 15-minute session specifically created for our youngest patrons to look at board books, do finger plays, bounce on laps and explore. This early literacy time will introduce your baby to the library and the world of books!

Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 4 p.m. crafty kids ages 8-12 are invited to “Holiday Beading Extravaganza.” Join us for this fun and festive holiday gift making session! Teens: Stop in for “Merry Marbling” on Thursday, Dec. 21 at 3 p.m. Please bring an item to transform with this neat technique. Not sure what marbling is? Check out YouTube for inspiration!

In Jeffersonville: Tuesdays at 11 a.m., come, listen to stories, play instruments, create crafts, and socialize with other little friends at Toddler Time. The “Knitters & Crocheters” will meet on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 3 p.m. for their drop-in session of hat making. Caps and hats are donated to newborns and those with cancer. Join us!
